As mentioned before Spean Bridge is 1.5 miles away and has a small Post Office and Railway Station as well as a Spar shop for groceries. Though there are larger Supermarkets in nearby Fort William.

There is also a regular bus route passing the bottom of the drive and seven places to eat all within a short drive.

Trips to the following places aro all possible in a day:'

Glenfinnan. Arisaig and Mallaig (A830). Ardnamurchan lighthouse, the most westerly point on the UK mainland (A861).
Lochaline ferry crossing to the island of Mull (A884) and the towns of Fort William (A82) only 11 miles and also Oban (4828).

Then driving east is the village of Roy Bridge, Nowtonmore, Aviemore Pitlochry. Perth and Braemar and north to Fort Augustus. Caledonian Canal. Loch Ness and Inverness.

For those of us who enjoy the great outdoors there is a nine-hole Golf Course at Spean Bridge and also in Arisaig. There is also an 18 hole course in Fort William, Fort Augustus and Inverness.

For the walkers there are many varied routes for all abilities, from scenic flat walks around lochs and through native woodland, to the many Munros in the area including Ben Nevis
